Does anyone know how to get the Video Ram of a PC from a WMI call?
I've seen calls to the Win32_VideoController management object's AdapterRAM property, but that only gives the system memory, and is not representative of the video RAM at all.

Is there another way of getting the video ram?
Turns out it was the adapter RAM returned, and throughFrom The Microsoft....
Property, but that was only giving us the system memory, which has nothing to do with the Video Ram.

My laptop recently started to BSOD when booting up XP (I haven't got the text of the BSOD yet). It starts up OK in safe mode except for the fact that the video output has a regular repeating pattern of corruption, a bit like this:

Is the monitor plugged.
Remove one at a time, and see if one unseated your video card? also try resetting your CMOS to see if this helps.
I had this behavior after one of my sticks of RAM failed.

Why would my computer run smoother with 2GB rather than 4GB of ram. Recently I purchased a new set of 2X 2gb Gskill ram from Newegg. I was running Windows XP 32bit so I didn't even put all 4gb in there, I did test it for a while but it was running like...

Or but the RAM in another computer, etc there's no reason for it to run faster.
Checks for a BIOS update for your motherboard?
If not that then if you could find some other RAM to swap in to see if the RAM is the problem.

Dedicated card graphics are needed.
Source(s): techie Integrated graphics (what you call the computer video card) are not suitable for gaming.
Get a graphics card with nore 'built-in' video RAM.

Rams will be softer than ever under Jeff Fisher, and I have video proof. A real shame, I thought things were going to change.

Check in the BIOS and see if you can see / set:
the video card sharing RAM (using motherboard RAM instead of having its own, or using motherboard RAM how much....
The usual reason for this is shared ram with video.

Hi all,
I'm looking to purchase an older CPU/mobo/RAM combo for a HTPC that I'm building. I would also be interested in just the CPU/mobo if you do not have RAM to go along with it. I'm looking for the following:
