It did turn out well & played great old Gibson pickups I ended up trading it for the 65 Jazzmaster neck that I have on one of my strats.
At the time the last thing on my mind was keeping it vintage.

I'd rule out an EB0 - i'd miss the bridge pup.The EB3 works best with a dirty snarling valve amp... .
I suppose I'd get the EB3 - but I do prefer the playability of a short scale, but the Ripper probably cuts through better .
I love both the Ripper and EB3.
