Does the neccesarily have to remain the domain of radiologist or will gastroenterologist be able to perform and interpert Virtual Colonoscopies?
I don't see why not but there's alot I don't know so I was just curious as to who regulates who can interpert...

Has anyone had a virtual colonoscopy? My docs have tried several times and can't get a colonoscopy done. The radiation has my colon all twisted up, so they say I need to have this done now this summer? I don't know anything about it and just wonder what...

Never heard of it....but I would rather have virtual cancer than real cancer lol 3/27/12 female 52 weeks ago, not painful at all...apparently it produces the same results as a colonoscopy but it does the same as a colonoscopy , only....

Well, you may wish to have a CAT scan, or a barium enema, there are several diagnostic tests that can be done besides colonoscopy, particularly if you have a mass in the small intestine... colonoscopy would be useless in that case, and instead they'd ...

Thanks for the info, local anesthetic for colonoscopy wouldn't work and GA would be dangerous cancer and need a colonoscopy-can't find anyone to do it without sedation therefore will not have it done We started out with my colonoscopy....

First, don't go back to that same doctor! Ultimately, it's your own decision. Doesn't make it any easier, I know. Find a new doc and tell him your fears and exactly why you're so worried. I had a similar first experience and swore up and down I'd NEVER...

Are colonoscopies usually avoided while someone is having chemo treatment? One has been recommended for my husband due to slight rectal bleeding, but he is currently on chemo for another cancer, so the gastroenterologist wants to get an OK from the oncologist...
