For example, a host machine w/8 Gig of memory, I could run 4 VMs each w/2 Gig (roughly) and there would be no host swapping. However, in each VM I could have a 2Gig page file so...

(Heck, nobody even mandates that virtual tables are used at all in the object which references a table of function....
Vtable layout in memory is completely compiler dependent; there's no "correct" or universal, there is no general approach.

As I know in win32 every program receives say 4GB of virtual memory. Memory manager is responsible for offloading chunks of memory from physical memory to disk.
Does it imply that malloc or any other memory allocation API will throw OUT_OF_MEMORY exception...

Regardless, you should always keep virtual memory on even if you do have enough since it will only ever be used when you, I probably wouldn't turn....
2GB is not nearly enough to even consider this.

There's a free edition of VSuite Ramdisk that may meet your needs .
