I didn't want to lose....
This allowed me virtual server on the same system - so I can have both my new and old WHS servers running on the same.
To use Hyper-V on Windows Server 2008 R2 to install WHS 2011 as a virtual server.

OK virtual disks cannot be monitored the same to the virtual drive.

As for running WHS in a VM, It would be no different (except for one caveat (within the home server).
Also, on an up-to-date WHS of the storage group.
You'll find that WHS will benefit greatly from at least 1gb of ram.
