Is there any method of using iPhone (2G) with winamp without having iTunes installed?

It started happening a few updates ago and I can't figure out if it's some setting that changed or if there's some reason it can't access the file. Has anyone else had this problem and been able to fix it?
I'd like to avoid a blanket uninstall/reinstall...

There may also be a folder called winamp....
Maybe take ownership of winamp.m3u (or the winamp directory)
In the appdata\winamp directory.
Let me know.
Go in Folder Options - File Types and make sure the .m3u files are opened by Winamp.

Is the "jump to file" (hotkey: J) supposed to be really slow in Winamp 5? In Winamp 2 it displays instantly, and truncates list instantly when typing. In Winamp 5 it takes 5 seconds to show up, and another 5 seconds freezing when i start typing.

Nothing's changed in that department be such a difference....
The Jump to File feature is built into Winamp 2x/5x.
S939 and 2GB RAM
Something interesting is that when i run Winamp in Windows Vista beta1, the 5 second no difference...

That error appears if Winamp is not able to load the plug-in dll either from a dll dependency issue.

I can attest to all of the above issues on my Nexus S running Winamp for Android 1.1.1, and Winamp 5.621 on my desktop.

actually did a very limited install, with only the Winamp ....
I got round the issue by
uninstalling Winamp, then installing without the library support.
Voice recorder which Winamp kept
wanting to use as a portable media device.
