It has nothing to do on how on the user's host in their copy of Outlook
(don't know what is WinMail since there is no MS product.

Just upgraded Vista to Windows 7 32bit Ultimate.
Upgrade seems to have gone ok ... Did report net framework 4 needed repair, and it did carry out repair.
I used Winmail with Vista, had the message about no email client installed with Windows 7
