With their base warranty already activated - really no requirement for a customer to "register" at this point with warranty activated from the factory, and we move out the end date with a bit of padding to allow try to ensure the customer....

The warranty "extension" starts from the original purchase date, for you to be covered until XX/XX/2010 you would have had to buy a 3 year warranty!
Think of it this way, if you buy a 2 year warranty an additional warranty ....
