How can I play a sound based on waveform data that my .Net program is generating from user input and mathematical functions? By "waveform data" I am mean SPL values in a fixed interval time-series (probably 44.1 kHz). I presume that this requires some...

You will need.
Per comment: Yes, I know.
Maybe something like this will help Check out this thread on loading up a DirectSound buffer with arbitrary data and playing it.
Fill with your generate data.
I have a waveform 64 samples long. If the sampling rate is 44100 hz, how can I play(loop) this waveform so that it plays arbitrary frequencies? frequency = samplerate / waveform duration in samples Therefore the frequency should be 689hz(44100/64). If...

Loss (maybe you should have your wave data longer than 64 samples) but cannot possibly change: frequency = samplerate / waveform duration in samples Um, if by "waveform duration" you mean the period of a wave, then yes.
How to generate an efficient square waveform with varying duty cycle using C language?

N is a count of some.
Let N be the cycle length (1 / frequency).
That file contains your waveform.
Repeat.
Logical 0 for 1 seconds worth of data; then emits logical 65535 for one second worth of data.

I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions on how to go about rendering a waveform of an audio file. I wold like to enable the user to set an in and out point of an audio track and I need to have a waveform so you can see where to put the points. Are...

Most audio editors build a separate file (called....
An audio waveform, you will want to do some sort of data reduction on the original data, because there is usually more data available in an audio file than pixels on the screen.
I have got three screenshots below of Flash-based audio players on various websites that draw a waveform of the clip it is going to play and moves along while it is playing and also allowing the user to click on a point on the audio file and it jumps ...

Like the class also draws the actual waveform (on top of extracting the audio data) but you canHaven't tried it, but a google search for "as3 waveform" revealed this blog post (contains a link have to compute the spectrum as the ....
I'm about to start a project that will record and edit audio files, and I'm looking for a good library (preferably Ruby, but will consider anything other than Java or .NET) for on-the-fly visualization of waveforms. Does anybody know where I should start...

When displaying an audio waveform, you will want to do some sort of data reduction on the original of the audio data (usually the peaks and valleys of a waveform) for use at different zoom levelsThat's a lot of data....
Hello all, i have an application where i have to reconstruct a waveform using some 'x' amount of data samples. the conditions are: 1. new zero of the new waveform is the maximum peak value obtained frm the old waveform., lets assign this value as y sec...

Answer Snippets (Read the full thread at ni):
Use that information in the Get Waveform Subset VI to extract the portion of the waveform to the left.
I am designing a new laboratory database. I want to store the raw results for all tests together. However, results can either be a single measurement or a raw waveform. (repost see footer) Which case below is ideal (and why)? ... or provide your own ideal...

And (again, depending on some of the unknowns) I'd seriously... .
The only viable option is a BLOB for that kind of a dataset .
Option 3 is the way of points per waveform.
To a lesser extent, the same objection would apply to option 2 .
data point.
I wanted to plot the wave-form of the .wav file for the specific plotting width. Which method should I use to display correct waveform plot ? Any Suggestions , tutorial , links are welcomed....

Edit2: You have a couple of choices.
Of channels, then scaling the data to fit in your window.
Hi all, This question has been in my mind for a few years and I never actually found the answer for this. What I would like to do is extract the actual waveform/PCM of an MP3 file, so that I can play it using the soundcard (of course). Ideally I would...

On the Mac, I would to accomplish is playing with audio data, then probably decoding an MP3 to uncompressed PCM using any.
They should both have the ability to decode mp3 files into the raw waveform.
