Is it ok to have sand in board wax? Pretty new to surfing, I sat my board on the sand at the beach for a bit while watching others surf, my wax melted and sand blown in the wax. Should i scrape it off and re-wax or just wax over it?

The other option is using the flat blade of the wax comb to scrape off the old wax and starting fresh and clean with a new bar of wax....
The wax comb is great too.
A fresh top coat is great like what was suggested to cover it .

Therefore, apply a barrier coat let you know how it goes .
Even that may not get all the wax off.
You need to do more the directions on the label .
The residual wax is contaminating the new finish.
Of that oil+wax
Good thinking.

Dont just throw it in the closet or wherever. Wax your skis or boards before the long wait. It will pay off. Dont scrape it.

If Wig doesnt show wax is awesome and you have to get a bar of their expensive stuff, White Gold, and you'll make Wig have to look into it.
You when you use it and you SCRAPE your skis/board right you'll know what I mean.

Uhhh...what?
Are you talking about the neck itself, or the fretboard? Fret board.
Take a razorblade...lightly go over the fretboard....if you have wax, it'll show up on the blade.
