My 1989 1.6 GTi has the brake pad sensors and wiring intact and looks complete. I've just replaced the coolant level sensor with one from a scrappy. It reads a short across the terminals when upside down, and open circuit when right way up, then short...

As title, need to buy some for my mates car and she's at work, so I cant check ha.

Unfortunately if thats the issue then its not a cheap sensor...
If its the EGT sensor then thats in the turbo measuring the exhaust gas temps and the sensor box is under the inlet manifold...

Tweet How do you defeat the brake wear sensor? I changed the pads on all 4 wheels of my 1995 SL500, trying Akembo ceramic pads on the front and Wearever semimetallics on the rear. Unfortunately the Wearevers don't come with a hole for the wear sensor....

Any pointers on the following?
1) the cheapest place to source new rotors
2) ceramic pad choices (I'm so over brake dust)
I haven't had chance to take off the wheels yet to see whether it's the front or rear that's tripping the light. I'm guessing it'...

Lots of folks like the Akebono ceramic pads to replace the... .
They are cheap to replace.
It is a good idea to replace the pads before the sensors wear out cause that would the location of the wear sensors.
Both front and rear.

Before I take the wheels off can anyone confirm if an 07 plate 100hp should have pad wear sensors? I'm pretty sure not but the sets for sale on ebay all appear to have an integrated wear indicator on one pad. I'm wondering if the later cars got a wear...
