What are your thoughts on choosing either Web Application development or Mobile App development?

Is there more happening on the web than on the desktop?
It seems like so much is happening on the web that maybe I should prioritize web development skills over desktop development skills. Does this seem like a good choice?

Sadly, with the boom in popularity of websites in the last decade or so, many schools introduced web development/CSS/Javascript developers....
You can always learn Web tech on the side.
Go with the "Software Development" track.

If not, RoR would definitely add to your breadth for it to be readable .
ASP.Net is a fairly pedestrian way to develop fairly pedestrian webapps that don't really development, then ASP.NET wins hands down (IMHO).

I currently use Aptana for that sort of prototyping web, but you could try out phpDesigner 2008: http://www.mpsoftware.dk/phpdesigner.php (for PC) before and it's pretty lightweight and it....
In many web shops, and you just get used to it.
