I'd like to monitor HTTP traffic to/from my PC so I can watch web services interaction. (SOAP and RESTful services) There seems to be a lot of different software out there for this. What do you all recommend?

I have used the Spring Framework.

IIS does which would clean up anything residual.
I usually don't monitor memory used, as that's usually at or near 100%.
I monitor CPU, Disk space, CPU Queuing, ping (checking that the machine is up), that the IIS a 500 or timeout.

It has a web interface and is basically real security monitoring of your web logs, I would suggest OSSEC.

You could monitor B, C, and D to monitor and alert you to problems with B, C or D.
To A and the NLB forwards the request to B, C, or D returning the results .
