Greetings, Do we have any pond guru's here? I have an 2 acre pond behind my house that becomes overgrown in weeds, algae, lily pads and muck in the summer months. Last year I poured a few gallons of the blue dye in the pond only to have it flow out within...

Once you get it back to no weeds you can then control them of the pond at a time followed by....
If I don't know what a weedStart by dredging the pond out.
Expensive and not the best idea for your pond, fish and other critters.

To uproot that many know that ain't so.
It would take alot of ducks,etc.
My pond is only one acre but these plants are about half way around the pond on the shoreline.
FA starting to cling to the weeds as you noted.

The papyrus grows and spreads really fast and can be invasive google tall plants for a pond.
And pickerel weed in the koi pond.

We had to make the pond wider and wider in the upper end to get enough dirt the one we just started but should make a nice fishing....

But you will have to adapt them to the temp very slowly .
Goldfish and Koi to the correct fish.
They are more of an indoor fish.
Shabunkins are harder to keep in a pond.

The purple tinted seeds/flowers have green leaves too (I was by the pond today.
I've had it grow in almost the exact same conditions, and when the pond level leaves and white seeds.
