I have an appt scheduled with my regular OB this week. I'm going to see the MFM NEXT week for a full anatomy scan etc. I'm wondering if anyone knows what I should expect at this regular OB appt. I'm a little confused because I wasn't high risk with #1...

I have an appt next week with the MFM for an AS.
I'm excited about that still.
It's not unusual for a 16 week appt, most go once a month up until whatever point it is where they start etc this week.
Had my 31/32 week appt today. Everything looks good. Next appt is my first 2 week appt.

And I'm crazy nervous! I'm not quite as nervous as I was for my first appointment and u/s, but still lol DH can't go b/c a meeting came up at the last minute and I couldn't reschedule. I told him it was okay and that I would wait til next time to hear...

With doppler at 9 weeks this week (Im really 9 weeks 2 days) only for a few seconds but still heard.

If your practice schedules your first appointment at 8 weeks what do they normally do at that appointment? And how soon after would you have your first ultrasound if it is not during the appointment. Just curious and anxious! TIA

Here's my experience from last time around: At my doctor you have the ultrasound ultrasound was at 18 .
For me first appt was at 10 weeks and the first the same week).
They did an ultrasound at my 8 week appointment.
Ok.. so still having pretty regualar mild contractions, effaced and about 2 cm dialated, but head is still high.. uggh. I cant believe that with all the contractions I am having. Dr. stripped membranes and I have been having a bloody mucus since then ...

He wasn't born until over a week past his due date (and 25 hours.
It would all be worth it in the end)....
BP was low, results of 2 hr GTT were awesome, barely gaining weight but New Baby is measuring right on track and his HB is good and strong. OB was really happy. Next appt is in 3 weeks and we'll get a growth u/s, then we'll move to bi-weekly appts. Yay...

35 week appt getting the strep b test will he check cervix as well? Ill be exactly 35 weeks my next appt (Monday) he is doing the strep b test, and after this appointment I will be going every week now. Will he check the cervix for effacing and dilating...

But if you really want one, by all means ask the doctor what his usual practice is.) .
(There is no medical reason for such a check .. .
Some check once.
Some check at every appointment.
Some never check at all.
Depends on the doctor.

If you can, have someone go with you to the appt, not only for moral support.

At my first appointment, I was scheduled for a pap, various STD tests, a breast exam, blood tests (5 vials), urine test (don't use the restroom before this like I did! HA!), and doppler .
I have my 12 week appt tomorrow (Tuesday). So nervous! I've had a really stressful couple of weeks with a lot of family drama, work deadlines, and exhaustion. I hope all the stress hasn't negatively affected my pregnancy. Will try to stay positive!
