really like how you set up the weld for the stub tang this my friend, - the way you weld the socket, is like the way patternwelded gunbarrel is made i think.

Go through the welding tutorials on here, read up around the subject too, so you mk2 welder, i no its ok for my 1.2mm bodywork welding, but i need to weld some chassis plates on this one as need....

I had to grind almost all....
Now I finished the weld with the 3" air sander and a 3.
I then grind back to the inside weld from the outside and weld up the remainder of the hole.
On both sides and filled the hole from the inside first .

It isn't too bad most....
Gas welding has the same weld workability as tig, so you can hammerThere are people that have done it years ago but I would find someone with a mig to weld crushed in lol.
To much heat and way to large a tip.

I started by modifying the servo horn gear (this servo has seen better days, unfortunately its gone through all my other attempts ) I made a slit all the way just before I hit the casing, this is what will hold the screw drive so it turns with the servo... .

How do you go about welding thick metal say 2/3mm to 1mm sheet with out blowing holes through the sheet, thanks for help
i dont wana sound thick but say your overlap welding 1mm sheet to 1mm sheet, like a car floor etc, does that make you weld a 2mm weld...

Trying to butt weld something like 0.8 or 0.9 mm - to the other side of the ....
I've got some of the tiny clamps you mention, and this is one of their limitations .
It was something strength or safety critical which called for butt welding.
