Vital wheat gluten in the UK Up until now the only place Ive found to buy gluten powder was flourbin.com but his has worked out expensive. £1.85 per 500gm, a minimum order of 3kg and a postage charge around £6.

I know that WPI 8000 can be substituted for vital wheat gluten with way less carbs. However as in Jennifer's Bake Mix is it equal in measurement?

Im looking for any recommendations of the mock vegan foods which are also gluten and wheat free. So many of the burgers, hot dogs, mock products etc contain wheat protein and gluten.
I know redwood do various gluten/wheat free cheezly, burgers etc.

Supermarkets suck here for vegan+GF, if it's vegan it's made out of wheat or if it's gluten free that so many of the foods contain wheat, wheat protein or gluten.

Does Vital Wheat Gluten make you sick? Maybe it was just due to eating too, 100g of Vital Wheat Gluten is around 80g of protein remember - the store bought seitan tends have a problem with wheat....

It isn't always with the ingredients - you may find that indicated wheat/rye or oats! lol Also nothing that says gluten is in it.
gluten and wheat must be declared.

I was diagnosed with Celiacs disease in April of 2008. My question is concerning the labeling of gluten free products. I am wondering if it is legal for a company to label a product "Gluten Free" if it is manufactured...

There are even foods labeled "gluten-free" that have fine print elsewhere on the package warning "manufactured in a plant that contains wheat."
That is one of the reasons we so desperately....

I was just diagnosed 5 days ago, so i'm a newbie.
I found some items like Amy's.. it says on the box "GLUTEN FREE" but then when you look at the box it says it's made in a facility that processes wheat, soy, ect.

This is the way I look at it: If you cook totally gluten free in a facility that also uses wheat.

I bought a bottle of LIfeway Kefier Pomegranate Acai Blueberry . It is labeled gluten free. I have tried many of their other flavors with no problem, so I didn't bother to read the ingredients until after I had some. Wheat grass...
