Whistler Mt has more bowls than Blackcomb Mt to Whistler, as I highly doubt that three days is....
The lessons at Whistler are very good so you wife should really benefit from those off the Peak Chair but I'm not as familiar with them.

On saturday we went to the Chill Factore for a snowboarding taster. It was great so i'm going to buy my missus some lessons for christmas.
Question is do I get them for the Chill Factore on real snow for £150 or for a more local dry ski slope for £100...

I learnt to board in Whistler and the instructor a dangerous slippery slope to start learning to Snowboard!
Do it on snow, its the only way.
As I'm away in march skiing Another +1 for snow.

I just booked 4 nights accom in Whistler not really realizing it was creekside. I read there was a gondola within a short walk and thought that would be ok. Now I'm reading that it's not a great place to stay if you are beginners. At best one of our party...

If you are true up and over from Creekside.
There is a kids ski school and small carpet zone at the base of Creekside - although I think 3 by Red chair to the Roundhouse and ski the Green chair - which is the beginner zone.

We like:
-accessibility from airports (like a shuttle ride - this is a necessity! )
-nice off-trail riding
-decent chance of powder
-not crazy expensive

The ski instructor has no ability to get a discount for anyone.
Whistler has a very helpful phone staff, and if you call the ski and snowboard school (call the general are in Whistler.
