I've had good success with....
They just came out with the Widex Super that might be worth trying.
Since you have used a Widex HA in the past you might want to consider sticking with a Widex HA especially if you've been happy with it.

In just the last week (after my list recent infection) I have purchased a drying unit with UV, I'm hoping it will make a difference... .
Have you used the dry and store with the UV light? I read it cuts down on ear infections .
I much prefer RICs..

I have BTE's with earmolds and they are very comfortable and no it doesn't feel like I have 2 HA's in each ear .

Out of curiosity....
So I am now looking into the Widex Passion, a BTE model.
I have had my Widex Senso CIC's for 15 years and I am just now starting to feel that I need them talked to has said that a new pair of CIC's would not help.
