You can fix the problem by waiting for the socket to raise a SendCompleted event handling:
SynchronousMessageSender.cls....
The SendData method work out that way.
You're not waiting for the Winsock control to actually send the "quit" message.

Our network has a strange problem no one can seem to solve. We get some computers with the inability to talk to anything on the network. Reboots do nothing, there is no spyware or viruses detected by any tool that we have tried, and plugging other devices...

Have you tried running the winsock stack fix?

My internet is not working even though it is connected. I have a feeling there are some things missing but I am not sure what it is. I tried to reset winsock, delete winsock and winsock2 documents and restarted - protocol, repair/re-install the network...

The winsock activex control calls CreateWindowExA to create a window when is loaded into memory, but API Monitor fails to detect the call. I've encountered this issue when testing VB6 and VB.NET projects on Windows XP 32. Any idea why is this happening...
