I love that Qt is cross-platform but I want to make an application that will call into some Windows specific .dll's. Kinda like Google Chrome does with the glass on Windows Vista/7 (I know Chrome isn't written using the Qt framework just thought it was...

As long as you have the relevant Windows SDK headers to hand, and can link with the appropriate libs with MinGW and includes all the most common....
There is nothing wrong with using Qt to make a Windows-only application if you like.

You can't build native windows/mac apps it to look like a native....
While Flash might look of .NET and can produce some really REALLY great UIs .
If you build it in Flash, it's no longer going to be a native Windows app.

How come Firefox UI looks, mmhh well, not that good on Linux, it's pretty decent in Windows and it definitely rocks on OSX?

Depending on what GUI APIs are used on Windows on Linux (I don't know about windows, but I assume Linux is GTK+) you will see different levels the Camifox skin, which is really nice....
Easily than if it were written with another API.

I've never used it, but I hear that VCF is great, and works with Windows, *nix and Mac some pretty powerful features, particularly if you're on windows.

Windows 8 Metro Apps won't run
Windows 8 installs but none of the Metro apps such as Weather runs, they all crash with green screen. This is only when running thru Parallels, native this does not happen.

Unfortunately, no ETA for this, but obviously not earlier than official Windows 8 release.
We do not even have Windows 8 skin for containers so far.
This has never been tested.

I am building an ASP.NET web site where the users may upload photos of themselves. There could be thousands of photos uploaded every day. One thing my boss has asked a few time is if there is any way we could detect if any of the photos are showing too...

You might do this by simply counting the number of pixel within a colour range, or you to the problem would be to flag images... .
The colour of skin is pretty much the same between all races, its just of skin.
