Hey all, picked up my first BMW 323i a few months ago. Slapped on some used winter tires I got off craigslist, some Dunlop Winter Sport 3Ds that had decent tread still, only used for a couple seasons.
With a couple inches of snow in a mall parking lot...

How to practice evasive winter driving:
It's a good idea to generally practice your braking and emergency maneuvers in a big and well lit parking lot.
That way you get the feel of the car.

Its obvious 4x4 drivers like the snow more than the average person!

Given the recent snow in the UK one of my neighbours displayed how not to drive on an icy snowy road as he drove at speed, skidded all over the place, did a 360 degree turn ( managing to not hit all the parked cars!!)
I did ask him if he had driven on...

We had our first real snow fall today and I took the evora into work. To start my plow was now working this am so I had to back the car about 100 feet up hill from my garage through 6" of unplowed snow. No problems at all. The car behaved remarkably well...

Car handling notwithstanding, there's no way I'm subjecting my cars to winter driving know how to drive in snow, or pelted by a plow/sand truck going by.
Is worth driving.

Hi everyone We are 2 families from the UK, 7 in total, travelling from Denver to Winter Park 27th December in an 8-seater. Are we likely to need tyre chains, or are the roads usually cleared? Thanks in advance for any advice :-)

Have no idea where you're from or whether or not you have experience with driving in winter would not voluntarily drive in the mountains/Rockies in the dead of winter.
