Ok, so I have two 4ohm subs going into a 2 ohm mono amp and I'm pretty sure its going to be wired like this.

1 ohm isnt an option since the amp is not stable 1ohm DVC 4ohm goes to 2ohm/8ohm
You would need to gain match both not sound good.
Bump i would say 1amp to 1 sub since you can only wire the subs to a 1 ohm or 4 ohm.

Car is a 2000 Firebird. I'm looking to replace the sail panel subs with aftermarket 6.5" component subs. I know these are 4ohm DVC speakers. Can I use a 4ohm SVC speaker, and if so how do I wire them up? I'm looking at the Kicker Comp VT subs. Thanks....

A 4-ohm DVC sub can be wired for 2 or 8 ohms using both coils or 4 ohms using one coil body, dyno tuned.
With smaller wire.

Should I get 2 4 ohm subs, or 2 2 ohm subs? I have a Alpine MRX-M100 which puts out 1000 watts rms at 2 ohms. I don't want to wire my subs to 4 ohms cause that would be a waste of a good amp. I am planning on getting 2 alpine type r 12" 's. I was wondering...

That will get the full power outThe Type R's are only available in DVC, so, for your application you'll need dual 2 ohm coils.
Then wire the subs together in parallel for a 2 ohm load at the amp.

If i hookup two 2ohm subs wired parralel to an amp that can push 2 ohms: 1000 watts x 1 chan.
does that mean that each sub will simply get half of the channel like 500 watts per sub?
im considering buy this amp

But yeah each sub will see half be fine.
Those subs are rated at 600wrms.
You can wire these to 1 ohm or 4 ohm but either way i think you should be fine.
You're subs are DVC 2 ohm.

The only way to get 2 ohm is to use ONE sub....
Coils in parallel & subs in parallel is 1 ohm overall.
Wire coils in series and subs in parallel to produce 4ohm as follows:
2ez in series & subs in parallel is 4 ohm overall.

Old skool Cerwin Vega Stroker dvc 4ohm should I buy it? Was the dvc 4ohm stroker made for home or auto use? I know they can b used for both but would like to find out more on this model.
