dvc sub
Don't just wire it in serie or parallel if you don't know the ohms otherwise you mess up you amp and/or sub
If you wire a 4ohm dvc sub in parallel then you get 2ohm
If you wire it in serie....

Hey everyone,
I'm exploring the possibilities for my sound system and I thought I'd pose a question I've been pondering...
I've had a JL Audio 8w3 dual (2-ohm) voice coil powered by about 150 rms watts for years now. It has suited me pretty well (although...

One JL sub wired at 4ohm
two Radio Shack subs....
Radio shack sub (4 ohms), the two subs wired in parallel to present the amp with a 2 ohm load on this , but I think you are correct, if I am reading it correctly.

Rockford Prime R500-1 and a kicker DVC sub...confused on wireing. the amp is a mono amp, but with 2 - and 2 + speaker out puts. if you only use one of each, it will go down to 2 ohms...but if you use both, its only 4.
my question is can i use a 4 ohm ...

If I'm wiring like the title says say the Amp is rated at 500 watts RMS at 4 OHMS and 1000 watts at 2 OHMS, if I ran speaker wire from each sub to the terminals for 2ohms would it deliver 500 watts for each channel (1000/2) or would both terminals produce...

Wire the remainder terminals in parallel, (-) on sub #1 to (-) on sub....
Do this for both subs.
Wire an 8ohm load.
Do this for both subs.
To the (-) of the coil #2 on the same sub will give you an 4ohm load.

Can you wire two different subs together? I understand what it means to have different OHMS and the lower the better if your amp can handle it.
I also know how to wire subs all the way down to 1 OHM, you have to wire both voice coils together then wire...

But if the other sub is 2 ohm dvc for example around....
4 ohms in p/p will get you 1 ohm.
Subs/parallel is dangerous.
What ohm load does each sub hold individually.
This is actually the information you have failed to mention .

This means you are going to parallel the coils together on each sub then series the two subsRe: I need help...
To get the best loads.
I can only assume that you have 2 4ohm DVC's because that is common for these subs.

How many ohms would you get if you wired these two subs together? I have a 12" digital audio 1000watt max 500watt RMS dual voice coil sub
And a 12" JL audio 700watt max 350watt RMS dual voice coil sub
I also have a 1000.1 watt kicker amp that is 1 OHM...

Both are dvc's so you would wire each sub woofer parallel inside the coils, and parallel to each other (parallel/parallel) and that would drop 2 4 ohm dvc'....
Two part answer
1, you can wire them correctly to achieve 1 ohm.

You could always wire them in real world use.
What impedance are the subs voice coils? You could just wire the coils in series it would be much good at running a pair of subs at a 4ohm load...
The A/B outputs though.

Type R's are good, but 1ohm is really the OHM... .
Then, wire your subs for 2ohm.
RF Woofer Wiring Wizard From the specs to verify you are wired in series.
Use this for help.
Wire those subs to 2ohms at the lowest.
