Hi all,
We have just hatched our first chick thanks to a broody hen. We have the hen and chick separated from the rest of our small flock, but inside the chook pen.
Can anyone tell us when is the optimal age to introduce the chick to the rest of the flock...

I would do this in a week or two; when... .
So if mum is agreeable I might keep the two of them .
Normally let mum rejoin the flock when the chick is about 6 weeks or when mum demands it, but with an only chicken is leaves a very lonely chick.

My oldest daughter just went to college , I had a mixture of emotions . the thing that i worry about the most is ,did i teach her enough to deal with life , all i can say is i did my best . it is always hard to send them out on their own
