I am presently using Ubuntu 10.10 which I successfully upgraded for 10.04. I have attempted to upgrade to 11.04 but it did not work. I would like to upgrade but do it in a safe way so as not to mess up things as have happened on all my previous attempts...

I am still using the same /home partition.
Read and follow the Ubuntu upgrade was originally installed as Ubuntu 10.04-testing.
And do a fresh install of 11.04 (this is my recommendation)

My favorite desktop is Ubuntu 10.10 which will still be perfectly usable to me all the time on Windows 7s....
For how long? It is a shame that Ubuntu has completely lost it's way on the desktop design and it's previous stability.

Hey guys, looking for some help. I keep getting an error message during installation using Wubi. Installation gets so far then I get an error message saying "Permission Denied". Ive tried running it as an administrator but same result.

Try downloading the wubi installer and the Ubuntu iso the wubi installer and the Ubuntu iso that you would like and put both of those in the same directory.
This has been posted in the forums before.

I'm a writer, and I use openoffice.org on Ubuntu10.04. Unfortunately, recently something has gone wrong with the "find" function. When asked to find all instances of a word, it finds instead various random groups of letters.
