Used Wubi a couple of years ago and it worked....

Answer Snippets (Read the full thread at ubuntuforums):
wubi boots thru the Windows boot loader and updates XP's boot.ini or Windows.
I am not sure wubi works with efi.
See your other thread for some more efi suggestions.
You are having your issues.

Someone knows kubuntu when ....
I have windows 7 AMD64.
It would be better to troubleshoot the normal install to try to install kubuntu with wubi (Windows installer).
install didn't work then wubi won't either.

If you....
But the version of wubi.exe must be the same as the version of the ISO .
Then start the wubi.exe and it will use the ISO instead of downloading from the internet .
If you have the ISO, you need to put the wubi.exe and the ISO file in a same folder .

I'm in this strange situation:
I have 3 partitions, one for Vista (C), one for Windows 7 (D), and one 10GB partition (E). At least that's how my original OEM Vista partition sees them.
The primary OS that I boot into everyday is Windows 7. The situation...

I suspectthe problem is being discussed here:
Wubi installer doesn't appear in boot menu on Windows 7.
Solution in the end was to simply do a complete install of Ubuntu, removing the need for Wubi.

I've been trying to install 12.04 on my Windows 7 64 bit machine, and have had no joy at all. Wubi just runs for a second or two and then I get dropped back to desktop. No processes, tasks or programs in Task Manager other than the usual at that point...

If you're.
And why don't you simply go with proper dual boot? It's much better than wubi anyway.

Answer Snippets (Read the full thread at ubuntuforums):
On earlier versions of Wubi grub would appear after Ubuntu if Wubi still works this way....
Please, somebody? Wubi installs in a folder inside the Windows partition and uses the Windows boot loader for operating system selection.
