I installed ubuntu 11.04 64bit desktop version via wubi over windows server 2003 on my computer with i3 processor and 4 GB ram. A particular sql file used to execute like in 2-3 minutes on my wubi ubuntu install.

Still better to have a normal install (Wubi has a virtual disk - single file - soUsually the other way around, however, you have changed the ubuntu version as well as the install more difficult to diagnose.

Do you have dynamic drives setup on Windows? You shouldn't install Ubuntu over dynamic drives in NTFS file system.

Even the creator of wubi expects you to move to a full install.
The proper way to install Wubi is to download the ISO and the Wubi.exe program, put them in the same for a full partitioned install.

I suspectthe problem is being discussed here:
Wubi installer doesn't appear in boot menu on Windows 7.
Solution in the end was to simply do a complete install of Ubuntu, removing the need for Wubi.

Ive got a live cd of ubuntu 11.10 and ive opened it with wubi (which came on the disk) but there is no install inside windows option please help im completely new to this so if you could put your answers in simple terms that would be great.

install with wubi and it automatlicly shows up in boot meny believe you can do a Wubi install that way; instead, you need to boot into Windows, right-click on the Wubi....
Wubi is the inside windows installer.

I have been trying to install ubuntu via wubi so that I can dual boot using latest edition that is provided here: http://www.ubuntu.com/download/ubuntu/windows-installer .

If you need any help with partitions....
If you wish to do this, as a first step uninstall WUBI and reboot.
If you already have a native installation to that partition.
WUBI is unstable.
How have you formatted your F: drive?

Click on Start->Run, type later? It has been a couple of years since I've used Wubi, so I might not be able to help personally...
Wubi's error log can usually be found in your Windows %temp% folder.

Into flash and run wubi? There are options, one of which is to keep it in the same folder as where you're running wubi from.

I see it in Task Manager for a few seconds then it goes away .
