I get the proverbial X-mas tree on my dash every once in a while. Trac/skid/A-TRAC lights come on out of the blue. Usually while the Cruise Control is on. The Cruise Control light will start blinking, then up comes the X-mas tree. I stop, go in a store...

That's the first place of the codes.
Even if the dash lights go out, a code may still be set.
The same read from the ECM.
If not, then your brake light switch is out.
Check to see if your brake lights are working.

As a side note.....
Had I put the meter on it while the X-mas tree was lit up, I'd have.
At the FSM originally I saw that these two codes and the X-mas tree could be caused by a whole host, it was the freakin stoplight switch.
