You will needi use a xbox formatted USB memory stick
just go into the settings and locate your profile, select to know your Email Address and ....
Best way is to do a Account Recovery at the Dashboard.
And log on to xbox live.

I opened a ticket in the first week of December 2011 after my account got hijacked and the points drained on fifa DLC, which of course I don't own.
I have called multiple times since then, and confirmed with Xbox live phone support that no info is missing...

You can join live with the offline account to keep using that one..
