Just curious if its possible to use the Xbox 360 controller to control Windows Media Center (Vista edition). I don't want to do a extender setup, I'm looking at solely the Xbox 360 controller (wireless one specifically) as a device to control Media Center...

I didn't find this out Media ....
Map the arrow keys Media Remote that came with the HD-DVD drive worked to control my Media Center.
Xpadder is perfect for controlling the media center.
Out to be a good solution.

It used to work fine until now. It connects and gets to the home screen, but when i click on a video to watch, i keep getting this connection failure. "Connection Failure: The Xbox 360 was disconnected from the Windows Media Center PC." I don't see why...

E3000 Primary Router
E2000 Client Bridge
Both routers on firmware:
DD-WRT v24-sp2 (12/20/11) std-usb-nas - build 18024
PC (Win7 Ultimate) is hard wired to E3000. Windows Firewall and Microsoft Security Essentials.

For now, I've given up on Media Center and gone back to PS3 Media up giving up on WMC and now just use PS3 Media Server for both my PS3 and XBOX 360.
If there are frequent disconnects..

My Xbox 360 won't detect Media Center on my Windows Vista x64 PC. It can detect the PC itself and stream music/photos/videos, but it can't detect Media Center. The PC recognizes the Xbox as a Media Center Extender. What is the problem? Thanks.

I have a share setup on a NAS server with ripped versions of my DVDs. I pointed the Windows 7 version of the Windows Media Center Movie Library feature to the network share and it's able to find and play all my movies when running Windows Media Center...

If not i assume you have entered the 8 digit key?

It's kind: Nope I got it backwards, Vuze can stream TO and xbox, not FROM it sorry.
Some people don't even play the games.
We use the Xbox and PS3 as Media Center Extenders.

My xbox won't detect my 64-bit Windows 8 consumer preview computer underthe windows media center. Any ideas? It said on the xbox that it was unable to communicate with this computer when I ran the add extender option on windows media center. It has worked...
