Hi,
I've wiped an old PC and would like to put a copy of XP Pro upgrade edition on it. However, I no longer have my old XP Home and Windows 98 discs for when it asks for a previous version's disc.
Any way to get around this?
Thanks

Canged?
Was this a P2V conversion?
Is the XP guest on different storage then the rest? Is the storage OK?
I'd try building another XP machine to see if it's that guest or something odd.

If you did install any services recently, try removing them .
Hanging during that stage may or may not be a service .
If anything shows up, like disk errors, diagnose that problem .
You should first check yor event logs, after the system boots .
