I have this work laptop with XP SP3. I am missing the right click option "sharing and security" which allows me to share folders and such. The "Sharing" tab is also missing from a right click > properties. At least I think there used to be one.

I'd like to use my laptop remote desktop into my desktop. What's the best way to do this?
Just Windows RDP? What about my IP address at home being changed by my ISP? Should I use DynDNS?

Hi there
I'm trying to install windows XP on a old laptop which has a problematic CD-ROM drive unit. Sometime it reads the cds, but most of the times it didn't read the CD at all. Do you have any advices for me to follow?

Hi,
I found a program called disk2VHD and createa VHD of my XP laptop but when I try run it Windows 7 it does not start. Just some text scrolls up but can't read it quick enough.
Any ideas if there is another program to create VHD for win7?

With this image(winxp.iso/or other) you can install....
Or if you like, In the settings of the vitual pc you can add a image file to the cdrom device .
You can still use that image with something called VMWARE .
The vitual pc for windows 7 is limited at best .

It simply over writes the current XP without formatting--just make :)
Additionally you could use the XP CD to get into Recovery console and run a CHKDSK, perhaps it could fix any.
Do your first option easily.
