Do you have libXv-devel installed? (I have never installed this, but this is just a suggestion) .
So, it might need libXv-devel in this case.
Xjadeo installation needs devel versions of ffmpeg, etc.

Maybe the nvidia supplied installer script or smxi would work with either the squeeze or backports but my kernel was built with 4.3).

Ok this is a really strange one and I have to assume it has something to do with the video driver. I am using the latest version of Mepis linux and it is fully updated.
