I just installed XAMPP beta with PHP 5.3 on Vista, but installed it in c:\xampp\xampp instead of c:\xampp.
How can I uninstall it and reinstall in the correct directory?

I've been battering my head against this all evening and can't see where I'm going wrong. I want to set a host, mysite.local, on xampp and have followed all the instructions, but I keep getting redirected to mysite.local/xampp.

Second, why are you using XAMPP more secure and standardized environment than you....
First, make sure that permissions are correct on your DocumentRoot, but also every folder above.

Hi,
I would like to know how you upgrade PHP in Xampp for Windows? I tried to download the latest PHP version from the main PHP site but when I check (phpinfo) I still get that the previous version is still in use.

I dont think you can just upgrade the components....
Take backup of ur htdocs and data folder(subfolder of mysql folderI think you need to actually download and install XAMPP with the desired PHP version.
For this within XAMPP itself.

You can setup an alias in your .profile to point at the XAMPP version or put the XAMPP bin folder have to tell osx to use XAMPP 's php interpreter instead of the on board one.

If you can't get this....
To answer your first question, can you access http://localhost/ ? If so, then xampp is running are working correctly, place foo.html under /xampp/htdocs and then access it in a browser at http://localhost/foo.html .
