Could a motion to reconsider the sentence be filed on a straight sentence? If yes, is there a certain amount of time they have? His co-defendant got sentence today and recieved his youthful offender which in return gave him 3 years split for 3 year probation, house arrest, and some 20 week program while my boyfriend and another co-defendant is stuck with 20 years.

Mary Winkler was not convicted of murder nor did she receive a life sentence, so you can't compare apples to oranges. To Irish Queen - are you talking about a sentence of X number of years to life, with possibility of parole? Or is it a Life sentence and no mention of parole? If no parole mentioned, then I'd think he'd spend the rest of his life in prison. Probably depends upon the exact sentence and how your state handles it.

A better sentence would have been for him to spend the rest of his life making money to pay back the people he swindled and to give those people a better life. His talents are now to be wasted while society is still paying for what he did and pays for him to exist in prison.

Should A Jail Sentence Be Imposed On Someone For Speeding?
Im just watching how the Poll is going here and Im shocked at how quickly people are to surrender their freedom. Should people do time for 100 kmh in a 50 zone, remember thats double the limit. I think people are just getting carried away with a big number here.
