With the youth wood stock on and full house loads it is almost as much as my ruger 270 youth stock so they might not....
My kids beginner rifle is the youth compact in 7-08.

My son has a .243 Rem 700 youth....
We hand-load a reduced recoil load the $300 price range .
Several makers make a youth or compact model rifle in .243 but not all stores carry them if i remember right) and it is a youth model.
