I am trying to figure out whether to put money towards paying down my student loans more aggressively, or investing a 401(k), and would love some advice. I saw a very similar recent post on this and everyone's answers were helpful, but I thought I would...

I have some student loans, that are currently in deferment. Would it help my credit score to pay these down? I am willing to do just about anything right now, I am feeling like my score is a lost cause!

As a financial aid counselor I would say that student loan debt is based on both it.
Decent jobs such silly loans.
My younger sister has over $40,000+ in student loans.
But I never took out a loan.

Actually I disagree. Many people don't think twice about bankruptcy. They just look at it as a bump in the road that once it is over they are free to continue. When you can't take it and you have bill collectors chasing you then it takes a different outlook...
