Also "think" in Chinese culture is often construed as "should think" which as mentioned is tied to group-harmony/speak.
How you "feel" in Chinese is often construed as what you "believe" in.

I became a parent in the early '90s, and so I have not paid any attention to popular culture on in the entertainment world ....
An enormous chunk of culture originates I think.
And I'm not just talking about cell phones on TV shoes.
