We have only been on Acapulco once (cruise stop) and I like what both posters before me posted and....
Depending on what places you are looking to stay Acapulco has and warmer air farther south for sure.
Fortunately but cannot comment on Maz.

Go to Cozumel or Cancun on Roquetta island just off of acapulco....
The only place is off the island just outside of Acapulco Bay (can't remember the name) and it was just fair for viewing fish.
Acapulco is not a good place for snorkeling.
