Driving along the 401 east of Toronto, I was looking at the high-mast
lights set on the median barrier.
Seeing as there's a traffic lane a few metres away, and the barrier is
your standard height (a bit over a metre tall concrete), I started to
wonder...

NCDOT places them on extended height, thicker the occasional accident where a
transport winds up atop the median barrier.
If those high poles are hit by a truck, they'll fall down .
