Can paypal take money out of or freeze money in someone's bank account?
That's why I was loath to use our bank account to verify our PP account. I much prefered it when they would snail mail you something instead.

Bank Fraud, Identity Theft, Reimbursement, and the flow of money?
If you find out that money has been removed from your bank account, how likely are you going to be reimbursed by the bank? If you're reimbursed, where would the money come from?

Anyone had their PayPal account hacked?
Just got an email from PayPal saying they have limited my access to my account because they believe a 3rd party has tried to access my account. Looking at it now, there has been no money taken out of it, or my bank account which is linked to it, which is good. PayPal have stopped transfers from my account, and I have to change my password details etc etc.
Anyone else had this happen to their PayPal account? With my other Visa issues recently, I am worried my world world has been totally hackzored.

How do places like Paypal that only have money for brief periods make money on deposits?
It is not volatile - as you said here may be hundreds of millions of dollars at any time. Itis not like there is a "run on the bank" every 3rd day. The reserve levels are predictable, even if some is going in or coming out all the time. Computers can handle tracking the ins and outs of it, no big deal.

Email Hacked WTF can I do?
I just got an apology from a Buddy who had the exact same thing happen to him, right down to being mugged in London. He was very embarrassed by the pleas for money in his name. I think they are doing it on a large scale and are getting a lot of people. I am not sure how he did it but he regained control of his email account. Good luck an i am sorry I do not have any good advice.
