For me, I play with Mausers mostly so, Wilson, Criterion or Adams .

Well I wonder if a bolt action carbine might be better than a lever action functionally? Do they make one with a short barrel that has at least an 8 round capacity? Price range not much more than 5-600 dollars? Fewer malfunctions than a lever action? ...

I used 7.62x39 when I hunted, and it dropped them every time .
And .30-30 is good enough for hogs.
A 336 will be a lot handier in the woods .
Big and slow beats fast and light on hogs.
I would guess the .30-30 if you are shooting less than 150 yds .
