We're looking at booking a cruise out of Galveston in the Fall/Early Winter.
My favorite time of the year to go to WDW is when the Christmas decorations are up.

Activities....
We were on the Dream for Christmas and had an amazing.
There was a lovely (and great smelling and lovely holiday decorations all over the ship.
Christmas activities, but the ship was decorated for the holidays.

Has anyone done this? A holiday but just one where you don't go away and dont pay someone else for accomodation? A holiday away may not be in the budget this year so I'm thinking a couple of weeks off, we stay at home but arrange to do "holiday" stuff...

Just speaking from my own experience 'holidays at home' don't end up being very 'holiday-ish of the two.
