Their DHCP, the Netgear would give out the specific IP per the mac address. HOW DOES ANYONE LIVE I was using a Netgear router. It allows a designated  IP to be assigned to each specific mac "DHCP reservation" which should let you assign a fixed LAN IP address based on the MAC address
