Discussions about adjust can't

How do you "psychologically" adjust to writing software that you can't "see" or "use"? I realize that this is a slightly strange and subjective question, but I'd still appreciate everyone's feedback. My entire life, since I was a kid, everything I programmed had fairly "visible" manifestations. I wrote toy games, publicly accessible database... I downloaded the preview, and was able to adjust the line spacing in the preview. I de-DRMed the book and converted it from epub to epub, but still can't adjust direct from Kobo. Adjust iPhone accelerometer sensitivity? Is it possible to adjust the sensitivity of the iPhone's accelerometer?
