that said, i find those admission prediction thingies to give a pretty interestingA 3.1 GPA is marginal and probably prohibitive for doctoral admissions, at least directly.

I am new to this forum (wish I had found it much earlier!). But it seems like there is a discrepancy between class profile admission stats that college publish, and actual commitment stats - am I right?

I'm a UC-UC, one year transfer student who really wants to get into UC Davis. I'm applying for Electrical Engineering. I know that CC students get priority, but if I have a higher GPA than them (I'm transferring from UCSC), would Davis still accept them...

Are eligible for transfer if you have a 2.0 GPA in your transferable college coursework (2.8 GPA student can only accomplish by transferring to a four year college or university.

My GPA was a 3.0 unweighted....
They apply to, i mean i didnt apply to any ivy league schools, but I only had a 3.1 GPA graduating, they most likely to look at your GPA, they don't really care what extracurricular you do since school.

Hi,
Having a lower GPA doesn't necessarily mean that you are sunk and have no chance, there does exist a line that any M/S GPA below of, will in fact disqualify you from the consideration of medical school admission....

I got into the school I wanted and signed up for orientation and everything. I have good grades, but if they see that I got a low grade in my last trimester of high school will the college revoke my admission?

My d needs some hs science credits for admission to a state university (not our state, with different requirements). Does anyone know if there are programs that issue high school credit to grads? Or is community college her only option?

If you have a 3.5 GPA but are in the top 2-4% of your class, perhaps "poor teaching" or "grade deflation or percentile? A 3.5 gpa could be....
If your GPA is less that stratospheric, they will place more emphasis on your class ranking.

Our cousins to the north like to brag how applicants with gpa lower than a ~3.9 need not bother applying. The claim may be a bit of an exaggeration.
