Anyone know the reason & solution as to why I can't view / edit my 600d RAW files using CS3? I guess the CS3 RAW "driver" dosen't recognise the file format (CR2) and if that's the case how do I get round it please?

Digital with CS3 and, from what I can see, the most recent CS3 plug-in (4.6) doesn't work with CR2 RAW format.
Check online with Adobe for updates.
You may have to update the raw plugin for CS3.

Spending big $$$ for Adobe Photoshop is certainly not everyone's cup of tea.
Here is one reference discussion: Photoshop CS3 can't open RAW that answers you.
The raw files specific to your camera.

I am working on making some HDRIs and, snapped pictures of the chrome sphere as RAW images, but I cannot bring in the RAW file (.CR2) into photoshop. I looked on the Adobe website, and they have an application called "Camera Raw 5" but couldn't get it...

Hoi,
Ik heb tot nu toe, altijd mijn originelen geexporteert als "origineel + XMP bestand" daaraan vast vanuit Lightroom.
Echter, heb ik nu een nieuwe camera, waarvan de CR2 bestanden niet vanuit Lightroom (openen in...) in Adobe CS3 geopend kunnen worden...

Bij Lightroom 3.5, worden de bestanden eerst via CR2 naar CS3 via TIFF naar CS3 werd ....
Wel via een omweg: namelijk via DNG.
Bestanden van de 7D- de CR2 bestanden wil openen in CS3, dan gaat dat op geen enkele manier.

So I guess once you choose the camera the next step is what do you use for the editing.
I have used adobe Lightroom and found it suits my needs. What is everyone else using?

Simple but fast LR2.x but the cost is less than a tank... .
But for cropping and batch resizing etc I use iview .
I only shoot RAW, or CR2 on my cameras, yes using cs3 for main editing.
Adobe camera RAW, then into Photoshop CS5.
To go on.
