Simply put, if the designers of a new language want it to gain adoption and interest from the largest group of programmers possible, should those designers build a highly productive(Intellisense like features to begin with) IDE to encourage the adoption...

Why do applets have such a low adoption level, compared for example against Flash ? Is it because they are technological disadvantages, or is it just an issue of popularity?

Currently looking into learn new technology and silverlight is on the potential list.
However, I was wondering, will the popularity of jquery and it's awesomeness reduce the adoption of silverlight and therefore the need and reward from learning it?

Having recently become a convert to Grid Layouts, I find myself looking at more and more sites' code and seeing that grids are still grossly under-represented.
While I accept that grids might not always be the only right solution for every web design ...

No....with our first adoption we knew lots date, the location of birth....
When we went to the first family function (dh's side) after the adoption, we put our last cousins started screaming and jumping up and down lol.
