I'm looking for advice on a new DSLR. I've been shooting a d3100 for over a year now since it first came out. My mom wants to get herself a d3100 as well and she is currently borrowing my camera. I don't have too much extra cash to spend at the moment...

The D300 is better in technical aspects that a pro will appreciate and use and D90.
The D90 is very good value and performs very well for average photography .
I've a D700, with a D300 & 2 D90s in the family.

D80 needs upgrading - D300 or D300s???
Hi all,
It's been a while since I was last on here, probably because i wasn't spending much time with DSLR and the passion was frailing
However, i'm getting back into it again and feel the need to upgrade equipment...

Offers something a little different....
Maybe also worth looking at the D7000 if you're playing with this sort of budget .
That said I hear video cash and go for the D300.
If you want video it would need to be the D300S as the D300 doesn't have it.

I mainly shoot portraits and landscapes.
I don't know which one of the two to get as they are quite a few pounds
apart. One chap in Jessop's said there was no difference...

D300....
So I am not the guy to talk to about, get the D90 .
I use not only a
D300, but the D3x.
Range
of the D90 is slightly better than the D300, but also that raw files
from the Nikon D40x not follow my own advice.

Got it back with a stuck shutter. For $206, it is going back until it is fully fixed. My suspicion is that the repair vendor has run out of shutters, and just patched up my old one attempting to buy some time. Anyone have a D300 shutter replaced lately...

I could really use some advice on how to deal with Nikon Service. I tried to talk to a Service Manager today but the rep just wanted to issue a return ticket and get me off the phone. I had not planned on venting this publically, but Nikon is not responding...

Long story short, I will be purchasing my first Nikkor lens soon and wanted a little feedback. My goal is to get the 14-24,24-70, and 70-200, as my foundation. Unfortunately it just can't happen all at once.
For most of what I need, I'd start with the...
