I have been moving over to JavaScript (esp. canvas) from Flash / Flex / ActionScript 3 (JavaScript is a more open platform), and I was wondering if anyone has any advice on differences between the two platforms, important things to note, pitfalls, optimizations...

If you can't then I would tell you.
Canvas in particular does not work as consistently between browsers as Flash, which is almost things in multiple browsers.

I use my 700's for both on and off camera, and then another $60 or so for slaves or triggers??? Also, yes, three separate flash units really "ups" the control and variety that's possible....
Great flash, it was too heavy and bulky for my liking.

Seems like the SB-800 would work as a commander, but does that mean that I can't use the same flash as remote (i.e.
Depending on which camera you have it will activate the flash off camera or you can get a cheap it.

I currently have a nikon D90, 35mm f/1.8 DX, and SB-600 flash.
my old camera was a canon 20D, canon 28mm f/1.8 USM, and EX420 flash.
the nikon takes far better pictures than the canon did. this is to be expected if for no other reason than the generational...

The 18-55 is actually really good, and flash (used properly) only improves things.
Has not come off my T3i since I picked it up .
Very impressed with the 50mm indoors.

This has to be one of the hardest things I've ever tried to photograph. I'm limited by things far beyond my control. I'm taking publicity photos of rehearsals for a local theatre group. The only thing I have going for me is that the media for these photos...

Yes, incredibly difficult, but those are all the things that I have done as well .

Its probably for software to protect your SWF against....

I have a Panasonic GF1 with a small on-board flash, but when I use it there is a frustratingly long delay between pressing the shutter and the flash. I understand this is because of flash-camera communication for exposure (?).
