Hi,
What are some of the better free adware removing software out there?
I tried adaware but I keep getting these funny redirects in firefox when I search in google that go to ad/affiliate type pages.

I think my brother got a case of adware on his Windows XP PC, since he gets occasional pop-ups out of nowhere (even when the browser is closed). He ran the various removal apps like AdAware but the popups persist. My normal suggestion is to just reformat...

These days malware is pretty sophisticated and you don't know if the adware has://www.malwarebytes.org/

So i've been having this problem since like a month and half, tries numerous things, from scanning, manually deleting all files associated with with windows help panel/help thingy, to installing fresh copies, but the problem always seems to come back....
